A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly.

Speech by Bryan Dyson (CEO of Coca Cola)

Imagine life as a game in which you are juggling some five balls in the air.
You name them - work, family, health, friends and spirit ... and you're keeping all of these in the air.
You will soon understand that work is a rubber ball. If you drop it, it will bounce back. But the other four balls - family, health, friends and spirit - are made of glass.
If you drop one of these, they will be irrevocably scuffed, marked, nicked, damaged or even shattered. They will never be the same.
You must understand that and strive for Balance in your life.

How ?

Don't undermine your worth by comparing yourself with others. It is because we are different that each of us is special. Don't set your goals by what other people deem important. Only you know what is best for you.

Don't take for granted the things closest to your heart. Cling to them as you would your life, for without them, life is meaningless.

Don't let your life slip through your fingers by living in the past or for the future. By living your life one day at a time, you live all the days of your life.

Don't give up when you still have something to give. Nothing is really over until the moment you stop trying.

Don't be afraid to admit that you are less than perfect. It is this fragile thread that binds us to each together.

Don't be afraid to encounter risks. It is by taking chances that we learn how to be brave.

Don't shut love out of your life by saying it's impossible to find time. The quickest way to receive love is to give; the fastest way to lose love is to hold it too tightly; and the best way to keep love is to give it wings!

Don't run through life so fast that you forget not only where you've been, but also where you are going.

Don't forget, a person's greatest emotional need is to feel appreciated.

Don't be afraid to learn. Knowledge is weightless, a treasure you can always carry easily.

Don't use time or words carelessly. Neither can be retrieved. Life is not a race, but a journey to be savoured each step of the way.

The reasonable man adapts himself to the world;
The unreasonable persists in trying to adapt the world to himself.
Therefore all progress depends on the unreasonable.

PUT THAT GLASS DOWN TODAY

Once A professor began his class by holding up a glass with some water in it.

He held it up for all to see & asked the students,

How much do you think this glass weighs?

50gms!' ?.... '100gms!' ......'125gms' .....the students answered.

I really don't know unless I weigh it, said the professor, but, my question is:

What would happen if I held it up like this for a few minutes?

Nothing the students said.

Ok what would happen if I held it up like this for an hour? the professor asked.

'Your arm would begin to ache' said one of the students.

'You're right, now what would happen if I held it for a day?'

'Your arm could go numb, you might have severe muscle stress & paralysis & have to go to hospital for sure' ventured another student.

'Very good. But during all this, did the weight of the glass change?' asked the professor.

'No' replied the students

'Then what caused the arm ache & the muscle stress? Instead What should I do?'

The students were puzzled.

'Put the glass down!' said one of the students.

'Exactly!' said the professor.

Life's problems are something like this.

Hold it for a few minutes in your head & they seem OK. Think of them for a long time & they begin to ache. Hold it even longer & they begin to paralyze you.

You will not be able to do anything. It's important to think of the challenges (problems) in your life, but EVEN MORE IMPORTANT to 'put them down' at the end of every day before you go to sleep.

That way, you are not stressed, you wake up every day fresh & strong & can handle any issue, any challenge that comes your way!

Remember friend to PUT THAT GLASS DOWN TODAY!
